Stay Connected with the List this Fall

Kicking off the Fall Semester Together

My name is Emily Garner, and I am the Campus and Public Programs Manager at the List Visual Arts Center. In a typical fall semester, I would be preparing for students to return to campus by working with artists and community partners to create programs, tours, and activities inside our galleries and around campus.

We know that this upcoming school year is going to be a little different. Some of you may be on campus, some of you may be near, and some of you may be far, but wherever you are, we hope you’ll stay connected to the List Center through our online programs, calls for participation, and artwork prompts. While our galleries remain closed for the time being, please know that the List Center is always here to support creative thinking at MIT.

To our members and friends around the world, we look forward to sharing more news and virtual events with you in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, from all of us at the List Visual Arts Center, we’d like to welcome the student community into the fall semester!

Drawing on Love and Justice

September 1 – November 3, 2020
Created by Evelyn Rydz

Drawing on Love and Justice is a call for participation, a call for change. In the time of a rampant pandemic. In the time of racial injustice. How can we draw on our tools to bear witness to the world we are living in and draw on love and justice to imagine a different future? Use any of your creative tools to reflect not only on what you see, but also to imagine seeing what you want to change. Create art addressing what you see in the world and what you want to see in the future, then share it with us to be a part of this inter-institutional, community event.
